Being part of a family means being active in family life! Here are just some of the ways our members find growth, fellowship, and joy in serving God alongside each other (many more are regularly announced in our weekly bulletins and monthly newsletters):

• Altar/Linen Care- Assist Pastor in arrangements of public worship by care of Communion and Baptism vessels, care of linens and paraments, placement of flowers, etc.

• Church Council - Our men are charged with executing the policies of the congregation as set forth by the constitution and Voters assembly. This is accomplished through officers and committees.

• Dorcas Committee - Available to help see fellow members through a short-term need (non-crisis) for meals, home support, transportation to appointments, etc.

• Elders - Caring for and promoting the spiritual life and growth of members through home visitations, etc.

• Evangelism - Gathers monthly to study skills and techniques of personal evangelism, discuss and plan activities to help Bethany better serve the community and witness Christ's love, and arrange for the welcoming of visitors and new members.

• Greeters/Welcomers - Church families/individuals take turns throughout the year to greet people and assist visitors before and after Sunday worship services.

• Ladies' Guild - Bethany ladies join together for fellowship, Christian growth, service and foreign missions. All women of our congregation are invited to join with us to serve our Lord Jesus through the Ladies' Guild. Guild is our women's service organization, open to all adult ladies of the congregation. They serve the church by coordinating care of the altar/linens/service flowers, providing support for missions, help for members in times of illness, assistance with congregational activities such as potlucks, funerals, weddings, etc.

• Lutherhaven Representatives- Bethany is one of the owning congregations of this Christian recreation and Bible Camp property, located on Wildcat Lake in Bremerton. Representatives attend monthly meetings and occasional work parties in support of their facility, and also promote use by membersat various church and school-sponsored activities such as picnics, retreats, field trips, environmental education and summer camps.

• School Board - supervises the entire educational program of our Christian day school and Early Learning Center.

• Senior Choir - All confirmed members are welcome. We practice weekly, normally on Wednesdays at 7:00pm. The choir enriches our worship Sept-June, 2-3x per month, and participates in events such as the Area Lutheran Reformation Festival and Christmas caroling.

• Shut-In Care Committee - Members of this team agree to visit one or more elderly/shut-in persons periodically throughtout a year. Home visits are encouraged, though some contacts may be made by phone. The number of visits may vary from once a week to once a month for support, encouragement, friendly conversation, and to assess if there are obvious needs the church staff may be able to meet.

• Stewardship - Promotes a God-pleasing program of personal stewardship of the use of time, talents and possessions of the members in the work of the church.

• Youth Fellowship Committee - Provides spiritual growth, fellowship, and service projects for the teens of the congregation; also oversees Sunday School.

• Worship - Assists Pastor in the arrangements of public worship, such as choir, music, organists, ushering, care of sanctuary, and maintenance of order during the worship services.
