Pastor Tony Pittenger

Pastor Tony Pittenger grew up in a Lutheran home in Edmonds and received his B.S. In Biology from Minnesota State and his Masters in Theology from Bethany Lutheran Theological Seminary.

He has served at Bethany since 1996 where he met his wife, Melissa. They have raised their four children, ages 8-16, with their Bethany family and host an international student from South Korea.

Pastor says he enjoys preparing and preaching sermons and teaching many different aspects of God’s Word to kids and adults alike. His work with children and families includes sharing Bible stories and books with the ELC, teaching practical parenting Bible classes and coaching. He loves visiting members in their homes and hates paperwork. Pastor enjoys writing and has published Messiah, The Greatest Sermon Ever Sung, edited a devotion book for teens, Cling to the Cross 2, and serves as a Christian movie reviewer for the web site, Bread for Beggars. He also sits on our national church body’s Board for Youth Outreach.

Pastor Pittenger’s work in the community includes facilitating READY! for Kindergarten classes for South Kitsap School District, volunteering with wetlands development at Evergreen Lutheran High School, and teaching classes about God’s creation at Environmental Science Camps. He looks forward to developing a relationship with Coffee Oasis. Pastor Pittenger loves the beauty of our area and the outdoors and is thankful for a great community and congregation to call home.
